Zirconia Crowns and Bridges

Zirconia – Porcelain crowns are an exciting recent development in dentistry that allow us to restore badly broken down teeth with a material matches the characteristics of our own enamel more closely . Unlike the crowns of the past which had a metal substructure and wouldn’t allow light to pass through them, porcelain is translucent, just like enamel. This gives to it a much more natural, life-like appearance allowing us to restore teeth in such a natural way as to make them unnoticeable. In addition, an all porcelain crown can be bonded firmly to your tooth, which provides greater strength than the traditional crown.

Zirconia Crowns for the Front Teeth

Your Way To The Best Crowns And Bridges

Recent breakthroughs in adhesives, combined with the development of stronger porcelain materials, allow us to make crowns entirely out of porcelain. A Zirconium-based core has proven be as strong as metal. All-porcelain crowns maintain a translucency that makes them hard to tell from natural teeth. Without metal, the problem of a dark line at the edge of the gums is eliminated. This allows us in many cases to place the edge of the crown above the gumline, and that’s healthier for your tooth and gums.

No More Gray Line at Margins

One of the most common complaints of the traditional crown is the dark gray line that occurs where the tooth and the crown meet at the gumline. This is caused by the metal in the crown as well as the fact the light is not penetrating the tooth to give the root some vitality. The all-porcelain crown can overcome this handicap as well as provide greater strength.

How Much Does a Zirconia Crown Cost?

Zirconium crown prices vary depending upon the mouth region to be placed in and the size of the crown/tooth or the manufacturing procedure: full zirconia or ceramic fused to zirconia crowns.
However in general it is true that zirconium is not more expensive than other types of dental crowns like PFM. Our prices are around EUR 550-600 per unit for the rear teeth and up to EUR 650 per unit for the front teeth. Please be aware that this is only a rough estimate of the average price.
