Dental implants are small, highly developed screws made out of pure surgical titanium. The implats are being placed (often by screwing)  into the jawbone in order to replace missing teeth. A temporary crown (usually plastic) covers the gap until the implant healed into the bone.

After the healing period that can take between 3 months for the lower jaw up to 6 months for the upper jaw in wich the implant is firmly attaching to the jawbone, the permanently crown now can be attached to the implant.

Implants can be used to replace one or more missing teeth in the front as well for rear teeth. Also they can be used to support bridges or removable dentures in case of more missing teeth.
